Fanak Fund is offering travel grants under the NU­RUS program, aimed at promoting environmental awareness through artistic and cultural mobility. The program supports artists and cultural operators traveling for projects that engage with environmental issues.

 

Information & Application Details:

Deadline: February 20, 2025 (midnight, Paris time).

 

Eligibility:

  • Open to individuals (not organizations or groups).
  • Must be living and working in the Euro-Arab-Middle East region.
  • No nationality or age restrictions.
  • Must demonstrate financial need for travel assistance.
  • Eligible countries include: Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania.
  • International travel within these countries is eligible, but intra-European and domestic travel is not.

 

Theme:

  • Projects must focus on environmental awareness through:
    • Artistic creation related to environmental issues.
    • Conducting art workshops on the theme, especially for youth or local communities.
    • Awareness campaigns through artistic or cultural actions.
    • Participation in networking, conferences, and seminars on environmental themes.
    • Pre-production meetings or collaborative artistic actions related to the environment.

 

How to Apply:

  1. Ensure eligibility.
  2. Access the online application form via the official link (available during open calls).
  3. Complete the form in English, French, or Arabic with clear, concise answers.
  4. Include a cost estimate for travel expenses, signed by the applicant.
  5. The host organization must submit a separate form explaining the purpose of the trip.
  6. Submit the form before the deadline: February 20, 2025, at midnight (Paris time).

 

Submission Requirements:

  • Individual applications only.
  • A valid cost estimate for eligible travel expenses.
  • No additional materials should be sent.
  • Applications must include the applicant’s email address (not a third party).

 

Selection Process:

  • The Executive Board of Fanak Fund will check eligibility and forward applications to two experts for evaluation.
  • The experts will assess applications over one month.
  • Final selection considers geographic, gender, and discipline balance.
  • Selected applicants must indicate if AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) were used in their application.

 

Post-Selection Requirements:

  • Selected applicants must submit a final report (text, images, recordings) free of copyright.
  • Acknowledge NU­RUS 2025/2026 program support in all presentations.
  • Provide royalty-free images and logos for promotional use.

 

Program Benefits:

  • Covers:
    • International and ground transport (flights, trains, local transfers).
    • Visa fees and travel insurance.
    • Health costs if applicable.
  • Does NOT cover:
    • Accommodation, meals, daily allowances.
    • Any form of remuneration.
  • Funding is reimbursed:
    • 70% upfront after contract signing.
    • 30% upon submission of the final report.
