The residency seeks an artist to explore the concept of abundance within two Blackpool neighborhoods (Hawes Side and Mereside). The focus is on community engagement, storytelling, and nature, working alongside a team including an Exchange Artist in Residence, a Creative Gardener, and a Creative Chef.

 

Information & Application Details:

  • Residency Duration: 10 months (March – December 2025)
  • Commitment: 1 day per week on-site, plus attendance at Exchange Days and communication with the Abundance team
  • Budget: £12,000 (for 42 days, at £200/day, inclusive of travel and materials)
  • Deadline: 12 PM, February 24, 2025

 

Eligibility:

  • Open to artists with a strong interest in community engagement, storytelling, and participatory practice.
  • Must be proactive and confident in learning through doing.

 

Theme:

  • Abundance: Exploring the richness within the community and nature, including local knowledge, stories, and natural resources (e.g., harvested willow, apples from neighborhood trees).
  • Building Relationships: The artist will interact with residents to develop meaningful engagement and creative work.
