The Boynes Artist Award is dedicated to uplifting artists worldwide by fostering a supportive community and creating opportunities for emerging and undiscovered talent. Committed to promoting and connecting creatives, the award offers financial support and career-enhancing experiences. The Boynes Photography Prize, part of this initiative, celebrates storytelling through photography, providing a global platform for photographers to showcase their artistry. Held quarterly, the prize challenges photographers with dynamic themes, awarding winners with cash prizes, portfolio reviews, and publication opportunities — all designed to elevate their practice and visibility in the art world.

  • Organizer: Boynes Artist Award
  • Frequency: Quarterly (4 cycles per year)
  • Submission Platform: Submittable
  • Submission Fee:
    • $25 USD for up to 3 images
    • $10 USD per additional image (up to 10 total)
  • Cycle 1 Submission Period: Jan 1 – Mar 30, 2025
  • Winner Announcement: Apr 15, 2025

 

Eligibility:

  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Actively engaged in the photography industry with a consistent practice (portfolio, exhibitions, etc.)
  • Artwork must:
    • Be original and created in the last 5 years
    • Be photography (no other mediums)

 

Theme:

  • Cycle 1 Theme: Urban Life
    Explore cityscapes, street life, and the vibrant contrasts of urban environments. Capture energy, rhythm, architecture, and hidden details through photography.

 

How to Apply & Submission Requirements:

  1. Prepare the following materials:
    • Name & Email
    • Artist Bio (max 500 words)
    • 1–10 images with artwork descriptions
    • (Optional) Artist website, social media handles, CV
  2. Submit via Submittable before the deadline
  3. Pay the entry fee

 

Selection Process:

  • Entries are reviewed by jurors, including award-winning photographer Gabriella Wyke
  • Juror decisions are final and cannot be appealed
