About Fez Art Residency
Fez Art Residency is an independent, artist-led collective offering flexible, place-based residencies and retreats – both self-funded and externally funded – in the heart of Fez Medina, Morocco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s oldest and largest medina. Rooted in the belief that creativity flourishes in dialogue with place, our residencies provide a calm, inspiring setting shaped by centuries of artistic heritage.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to offer artists, creatives, and cultural practitioners the time, space, and freedom to explore, reflect, and create without pressure or expectation. With a setting steeped in history, tradition, and artisanship, Fez provides a unique backdrop for deep engagement and authentic creative development.
We encourage artists to move slowly, connect with the textures and rhythms of the city, and allow their practice to respond naturally to the environment around them.
Programmes & Opportunities
We cater for both self-funded and externally funded programmes, including:
