Short Description

Walls are more than just boundaries; they’re the city’s canvas and the starting point for cultural dialogue! We’re inviting young artists from around the globe to Taipei to collectively infuse new life into this city through the vibrant art of graffiti and murals!

Open a City Dialogue: Let Art “Hit the Wall”!

The curatorial title, “Hit the Wall,” carries multiple meanings: it embodies the challenging spirit of “conquering the wall” in street culture, the ceremonial and exhibition significance of art “hanging on the wall,” and a symbolic act of re-embedding art into the urban fabric from a historical context. When a creation “hits the wall,” the wall is no longer just a wall; it becomes a viewpoint, a voice, and even an attitude.
This program seeks to invite international artists to reside in Taipei, focusing on “Taiwanese Cultural Locality.” By integrating historical textures, community stories, everyday vernacular, and future imaginations, walls will be transformed into visual realms that can be read and dialoged with. Each wall will be both a question posed to the city and a reinterpretation of its culture.
