Short Description

Prisma is a volunteer-operated cultural association in the most diverse quarter of central Lisbon (Martim Moniz). We are a collective of expert curators, cultural managers, and artists. Our space exists to provide opportunities for emerging artists and we invite artists from various practices to participate and support our work. The program can host up to 7 artists at a time, we provide accommodation, a shared atelier space, access to support, and opportunities for collaboration with cultural actors in the city. The residency is run alongside our exhibition program and schedule of cultural events in which residents are encouraged to collaborate.

Eligibility

We welcome artists and organisers from diverse practices and backgrounds, researchers, curators, and critics for short (1-3 months) and long term (3+ months). Either as a resident or for those already in Lisbon, as a studio resident.

Submission Requirements

— Letter of motivation: a brief description of current practice, statement of intent, an outline of the project you intend to develop, and the estimated number of hours per week you will dedicate to the residency (500 words max);

— Please include preferred dates, duration, and room, highlight if your dates are flexible;

— Portfolio: (5 -10 images) include dimensions, technique, title, and date (max. 10MB total);

— Optional: letters of recommendation (3 max);

Entry Fee

The cost for each month of the residency is 900€. For bookings exceeding three months or for emerging artists, please reach out to us for a reduced fee. Studio residencies cost 350€. If successful you must pay a deposit equivalent to one month’s fee, payable within 7 days to secure your space.
