Short Description
“Raccont’arti” is a free international open call for photographers and visual artists, aimed at mapping the state of contemporary photography. The 2025 edition explores “The illusion of knowledge: the photographic image between freedom and control”.
The Prize invites artists to reflect on the power of the image today, exploring the relationship between photography and control, between the construction of consensus and its disruption. The call includes two categories: Open, for all artists, and Student, for those currently enrolled in art schools or who graduated within the past year.
The Castelfiorentino Prize for the Arts is promoted and supported by Fondazione Teatro del Popolo, Ente Cambiano s.c.p.a., Centro Culturale Cambio, and the Municipality of Castelfiorentino.
What’s the theme?
“The illusion of knowledge: the photographic image between freedom and control.” The theme investigates the role of photography as a tool of power, consent, and resistance in contemporary society.
Eligibility
All photographers and visual artists aged 18 and over can apply. The Student category is for current students or recent graduates (within the past year) of art or academic programs.
Participants must submit a photographic project consisting of 10 to 30 images. Submissions can include documentary, artistic, or hybrid approaches. Only projects are accepted, not single images. The finalists projects will be put on display the day of the award ceremony, in the exhibition spaces of the CAMBIO cultural center

Program Benefits & Awards
Winners will receive €3,000 (Open) and €500 (Student). A group exhibition in Castelfiorentino will feature the two winners and eight finalists — four from each category. The Open winner’s work may also be acquired by Ente Cambiano and Banca Cambiano 1884.
The prize is promoted and supported by Fondazione Teatro del Popolo, Ente Cambiano s.c.p.a., the Municipality of Castelfiorentino, and Centro Culturale Cambio.
