Short Description
As part of the 22nd Treviso Comic Book Festival edition (TCBF 2025), the Fumetti in Treviso association
announces the International Contest for New Comic Authors 2025, created in collaboration with Banca
Prealpi San Biagio Credito Cooperativo.
The contest is open to all beginner comic authors of legal age who want to test their skills and create a comic story. Participants can enter either individually or as a group of artists.
To participate in the contest, each participant (or group) must submit a comic story based on this year’s theme. The stories and characters in the submitted comic story can be either fictional or based on real people and events.
The theme for the International Contest for New Comic Authors 2025 is I couldn’t resist.
Eligibility
a) The competition is open exclusively to Italian and foreign beginner authors who are 18 years old by
September 1st, 2025.
A beginner comic author is defined as someone who:
→ does not have employment contracts in the field of comic drawing or writing.
→ has never been published by national and/or international publishers (none of their works have been
associated with an ISBN).
→ has never been published in newspapers or magazines.
However, students from comic schools and authors who collaborate with fanzines or self-published works are eligible to participate.
b) Participants from previous editions of the TCBF New Comics Authors competition promoted by Associazione Fumetti in Treviso are also eligible to enter.
c) Works resulting from the collaboration of multiple individuals (for example, comic artist, scriptwriter, inker, colorist) are allowed. However, all participants must comply with the requirements of point 1a).

(If a prize is awarded to a group, it’s up to the group itself to decide how to divide the prize.)
Featuring and promotion on TCBF’s social media accounts.
The awarding of any special mentions will be announced during the prize ceremony. The mentioned works will be published on TCBF’s channels alongside the winning entries.
