Short Description
Riddergade AIR is a three-month residency program where professional visual artists from all over the world can develop and immerse themselves in their artistic practice and strengthen their networks.
With Riddergade AIR, Viborg Kunsthal offers artists workshop facilities, assistance with tasks of a practical and artistic nature, as well as access to a broad local, national and international network.
Eligibility
Professional, international visual artists who can document exhibition experience within an artistic context as well as previous collaborations with curators at a professional level.
Submission Requirements
A letter of motivation (max 1 page), a CV containing at least one exhibition within a professional context, and two professional references (max 1 page), and a portfolio (max 6 pictures).

Program Benefits & Awards
- Workshop facilities at Viborg Kunsthal and accommodation in a room in the Kunsthal’s 250 m2 villa a few minutes’ walk from the Kunsthal and with direct access to the Viborg Lakes.
- A travel grant of 3000 DKK.
- A monthly stipend of 5000 DKK. to cover living expenses, transportation, and materials and production.
- Professional sparring, collaboration and exchanges with the art gallery’s staff, local artists, curators and other actors.
- A community-based network of volunteer co-hosts who introduce to the local area and help with practical arrangements.
