CURRENTS Art & Technology Festival is an annual international event in Santa Fe, New Mexico, dedicated to showcasing the intersection of art and innovation. The festival features cutting-edge works in new media, including interactive installations, virtual and augmented reality, video art, robotics, and performance. CURRENTS provides a platform for artists exploring the creative potential of technology and fosters dialogue between art, science, and the digital future.

Installations

Work in this category can be non-interactive or interactive, room scale or small, and may include multichannel video and sound work. It may also include the digital element solely in the fabrication process. Single Channel Video is a separate category.

This category invites you to submit work that explores creative approaches to materials and tools. The submission can be digital or mechanical…. Take us on a new tangent of 21st Century art making.

Wearables

We are looking for any design or invention that can be worn by a human being. It can be 3D printed, interactive, digitally enhanced, but must contain a digital component in its production or final presentation.

Submission Requirements

  • Applicants must provide documentation of their work samples that can be viewed online through platforms such as a personal website, YouTube, Vimeo, or Dropbox.
  • Uploaded high-resolution photos and video stills should be in .jpg format only and must not exceed 3MB per file. Each file should be clearly labeled with the title of the artwork and the name(s) of the artist(s).
  • Works in progress are also eligible for submission, provided that the submitted materials demonstrate a strong and cohesive body of work.

Multiple submissions are welcome in one or more categories. You must submit a new form and submit the fee for each submission. All Categories: $25 for a single and $20 each for multiple submissions.
