Mesh festival

Mesh festival is inviting artists to present their projects, videos, installations, performances or immersive artworks for the first festival edition: Tooling the Future. Join Mesh Festival! The artists of the festival are selected by open call submissions and by invitations. The admission process is open from April 8th to May 5th, 2024.

Mesh is a festival of art and technology. It connects international art audiences, artists, cultural professionals and technologists, and thus shows the influence of new technologies on society and how these developments are to be viewed. Mesh showcases a vibrant collection of visual arts, audio-visual performances, videos, concerts, talks. The full festival program will be announced in August 2024.

Tooling the Future is the focus of the first festival edition, which is dedicated to the question of new or different tools for a friendly future. From critical access tools to proposals for bodily coalitions, what are the tools of the future that we really need?The first festival edition delves into the world of tools that pave the way for a brighter future. The focus lies on re-interpreting tools, immersive experiences in the sense of a balance between control and agency, radically exploring empowering computational practices, and joyfully experimentation and interdisciplinary approaches.

The first Mesh Festival will be held from 17th to 20th October, 2024 in Basel, Switzerland.

Join Mesh Festival! The artists of the festival are selected by open call submissions and by invitations. The admission process is open from April 8th to May 5th, 2024. You can apply for one or more categories. The categories of the festival are:

Screening
Installation
Performance

Proposed projects should not be older than two years and have to be completed before October 2024.
You can apply by filling in the application form below. Please read the terms (below) and the privacy policy carefully before submitting your application.

Artistic decisions and curating are made by the festival’s artistic team. The team expects to receive experimental, bold and surprising submissions and fresh ideas.

With your application you accept our privacy policy. Please note: your application doesn’t guarantee participation. All submitted projects will be evaluated by the creative direction and curators of Mesh Festival. Artists whose projects are selected will be contacted by May 31st, 2024.
