Short Description

The Design Educates Awards (DEAwards), organized by the Laka Foundation, recognize global projects in architecture and design that have a meaningful societal impact. The competition highlights innovative works that combine aesthetics with educational value, storytelling, critical thinking, and influence on user behavior. Winners receive certificates, exhibition opportunities, media promotion, and an invitation to the awards ceremony in Germany.

 

Eligibility

Open to completed projects and concepts from the last 5 years, for individuals and companies of any size.

 

Theme

Projects should not only have aesthetic excellence but also educational value, influence on perception and emotions, and storytelling potential.

Include project details demonstrating impact, design value, and innovation.

Submission Requirements

The submission consists of the following files:

 

  1. Images of your design saved as JPG files in RGB mode with 200 dpi (up to 5 files),

 

  1. A single “featured image” saved as JPG files in RGB mode with 200 dpi, in horizontal format, 2000 x 1000 px (this image will be used as a header image while presenting your design to the judges and media),

 

  1. Description of your design (max. 1000 characters) and your team (max. 150 characters).

 

Selection Process

Entries will be judged by an expert panel assessing design quality, educational value, innovation, and societal impact.

Entry Fee:

Students: 50 Euro

Individual professional / Company < 10 employees: 175 Euro

Company 11 – 100 employees: 350 Euro

Company 100+ employees: 600 Euro
