General Eligibility

Connecticut College accepts first-year and transfer applicants, including international applicants. Admission is selective and considers academic preparation alongside personal and non-academic accomplishments. International first-year applicants must provide secondary-school records; transfer applicants must provide college records and the required transfer documentation.

Educational Background

  • First-year applicants must submit an official secondary-school transcript or equivalent school record. Transfer applicants must submit official transcripts for college-level study and an official final high-school transcript or equivalent proof of graduation. Applicants who already hold a bachelor's degree may not apply for a second bachelor's degree at Connecticut College.
  • International applicants who are not U.S. citizens must also submit a Verification of Financial Support.

Applicants educated outside the United States may be required to demonstrate English proficiency through TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test or PTE. Connecticut College does not state a minimum required score on its current admissions materials; it reports that successful applicants generally score around 100 TOEFL, 7.0 IELTS or 130 DET. Additional Details

Connecticut College is primarily an undergraduate institution; the current academic offering relevant to this page is the Bachelor of Arts degree rather than a portfolio of MFA/MA film or fine-art degrees. Its Film Studies major is particularly relevant to students seeking a combination of filmmaking practice and critical film studies.

International students who are not U.S. citizens are generally not admitted as first-year students for the spring semester. Connecticut College also requires international applicants to demonstrate sufficient financial resources through its Verification of Financial Support process, even when they are applying for financial aid.
