We invite individuals engaged in visual art and film to participate in the open international competition being held as part of the 16th IN OUT Festival.
IN OUT Festival is a cyclical project of the Laznia Center for Contemporary Art organized since 2005. In 2024, CCA Laznia intends to dedicate its 16th edition to the theme of photography. The aim of this edition of the Festival is to look at what photography is for visual artists, and what video and films are for artists working with photography. How is the function of photography changing in the field impacted by new media? Does and how does photography function in juxtaposition with other media? The Festival includes an open, international competition for short experimental forms. The competition is in two stages, artists from Poland and abroad selected in the first stage are invited to the Festival in Gdansk, and their works are presented during the reviews.

Our experimental films festival is organised by CCA ŁAŹNIA in Gdańsk, Poland/ Within we are organising open call form videos, they will be awarded and we will do screenings of chosen videos in our institution. The theme of the 16th IN OUT Festival is 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗛𝗬 / 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗘, we invite you to submit video works: form
✺ The main prize in the Competition is a cash prize worth: PLN 6,000 , funded by the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Mieczyslaw Struk.
✺ Second Prize in the Contest is a cash prize worth: PLN 5,000 , funded by CCA ŁAŹNIA. Additionally, CCA ŁAŹNIA offers a one-month residency at CCA ŁAŹNIA in 2025 to be agreed upon in a separate contract.
✺ The third Award named after Prof. Witoslaw Czerwonka is a cash prize of PLN 4,000, funded by the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk.
The jury will also award honorable mentions.
From the works submitted by June 30, the jury will select 15 of them to be qualified for the second stage and shown during the IN OUT 2024 reviews in Gdansk.

The competition is in two stages: from the works submitted by June 30, 2024, a preselection jury will select 15 experimental films for the competition finals. The selected works will be shown during reviews during the festival and the finalists, will be invited to the festival in Gdansk.
Prizes:
First prize: PLN 6,000 funded by the Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodeship.
Second prize: PLN 5,000 funded by the CCA ŁAŹNIA.
Third prize: PLN 4,000 Professor Witoslaw Czerwonka funded by the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk.
In addition to the financial prizes, honorable mentions will also be awarded.
The competition is aimed at those creating in the medium, there is no age category or requirement of an artistic education background.
Duration of the film: over 1 minute, up to a maximum of 20 minutes.
Year of production: the work should not be older than 3 years.
