The association is based in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes (06), France.
Via thankyouforcoming, her artistic director Claire Migraine develops and produces the New Patrons
Program in the South-East part of France, with the support of the Fondation de France, as a member of « La
Société des Nouveaux commanditaires ».
Thankyouforcoming is part of the networks Arts en residence – réseau national, DEL’ART – Contemporary
art French Riviera and Monaco, and Botox(s) – a network for contemporary art involving 30 organisations
that are engaged in the production and the promotion of contemporary art in the Mediterranean region and
Southern French Alps.
ACROSS Season #8 is kindly supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Department of the Alpes-Maritimes,
the Region Sud and the City of Nice.
OPEN CALL – SEASON #8
During Winter 2023, thankyouforcoming launches an open call for applications for 1 art critic and/or
curator, for a 3-week residency between 13 April and 14 May 2023.
This residency program allows the residents – through meetings, visits to artists’ studios, time for exchanges
– to discover the French Riviera area’s contemporary art scene, to develop their research work and to
participate in a new network.
The purpose of thankyouforcoming’s residencies is to foster links and collaborations between its local art
ecosystem and international artists, curators, art critics, institutions, galleries etc at a national and
international scale.
TERMS OF THE RESIDENCY
1 residency period of 21 consecutive days for the selected candidate is available between 13 April and 14
May 2023 (stay to be scheduled in agreement with thankyouforcoming).
Thankyouforcoming provides:
- A fully equipped individual flat with a working space (office) and garden in Nice.
- Return travel expenses refunded (subject to the provision of receipts) up to EUR 400 (preferably by train).
- A total grant of EUR 1000 is offered for the residency, on presentation of invoice.
- Per diem of up to EUR 450 in total are awarded for 21 days.
- A defrayal up to EUR 300 for local transport (subject to the provision of receipts).
- During his or her stay, the resident is requested to propose a public event. Designed in advance of the
residency, it will be developed with the support (intellectual, logistical and financial) of thankyouforcoming.
The shape of this event is open, examples include: a reading session, lecture, presentation of research in
progress, exhibition, walk, screening session etc. The content and the form of this public event should be
defined with and approved by thankyouforcoming at least 60 days prior to the residency period.
A record of the residency and this event in particular will be posted on our website.
- A writing grant of EUR 300 (on presentation of invoice) for a text centred around the artists and projects met by the resident during his/her stay, at the heart of the writing process (to be written within 3 months after the residency), published online among the “Made in Local” editions.
- We are at the disposal of the resident, before, during and after the residency period, to facilitate contacts and organise visits and meetings with artists, institutions, curators, collectors, galleries, museums etc. on the French Riviera (Nice, Monaco, Mouans-Sartoux, Antibes, Cannes, Vence etc).
The resident is committed to respect the agreed schedule with thankyouforcoming (visits, meetings etc).
