Art Connects Women International Exhibition

The Art Connects Women- International Exhibition’s inauguration in 2017 opened the curtains in Dubai to ZeeArts Gallery’s curatorial feat of bringing centre stage to an extensive international line-up of women artists and their artworks, leading by the artist-activist and founder of ZeeArts, Zaahirah Muthy, makes no reservation in challenging the ensemble of women artists to produce art that addresses the call-to-action for driving gender balance and women empowerment

Throughout history, the paucity of women-artist representations has been an impediment in the bid towards diversification within the art world. As we attempt to realign the skewed perspectives of gendered narrations in the institution of art, ZeeArts has put together a compendium of women artists on a global scale across 5 continents (Europe, Middle-East & Africa, Asia, Americas, and Oceania).

Our commemorative pursuits alongside International Women’s Day seek to empower and provide opportunities for female artists to reflect upon the entrepreneurial adversities they face while revising their strategies throughout the promotion of gender parity.

It is the privilege of ZeeArts to shine the limelight on the talents of these exceptional individuals who have their courage, creativity, and determination embodied within their artworks to be laid bare as inspirations for a more inclusive future.

Exhibition Theme: Leave a Legacy

A legacy is something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor. Your legacy is the total of your life experiences, beliefs, values, and traditions passed down from generation to generation. It is the good, bad, and everything you leave behind.

Leaving a legacy is important for many reasons. It can serve as an example for future generations, preserving memories and teaching valuable life lessons. It can also be a source of pride and motivation, inspiring others to strive for greatness, regardless of their circumstances. The best way to live your legacy is by example. You can tell your children all day long to be kind, honest, and hardworking, but it won’t mean nearly as much as if they see you living those values every day.

When they see you standing up for what you believe in, even when it’s difficult, they’ll learn the power of conviction. They’ll learn the importance of living purposefully when they see you following your dreams and pursuing your passions. And when they see you being kind and compassionate, even to people who don’t deserve it, they’ll learn the true meaning of the character. So live your legacy daily, and show your children what it means to be a good person. That’s the best way to ensure that they carry your legacy forward.
