CFPR Visiting Artist / Designer in Residence

We welcome artists and design practitioners to come and work with us on a 1 month residency programme (30 days). We are looking for artists and designers who are makers, working at any level of their career, and are advancing the boundaries of art, design and technology. The residencies will take place at our labs and studios at Frenchay Campus.

As an Artist or Designer in residence, you will make a body of work that will contribute to the CFPR archive and the editions portfolio. You will have a curiosity and range of interests that may include (but not exclusive to) fine art, print, product design, robotics, electronics, software, manufacturing and materials science.  You will have a combination of visual, technical and creative skills, are adaptable, willing to fail, try new technologies and work outside your comfort zone.

The Artist / Designer in residence programme also presents a truly exciting opportunity for exceptional and motivated individuals to make significant contributions to the Centre’s research. As part of each residency, you will deliver a talk or practice-based session to our researchers and postgraduate students. You must be able to confidently present and demonstrate ideas to a cross-disciplinary community and across different audience levels and groups.
