Craft Contemporary Job Opening: Curator

Craft Contemporary is seeking a dynamic Curator to lead our Curatorial Department in Los Angeles. This role is a unique opportunity within our vibrant museum, currently experiencing revitalization under new leadership. The Curator will be pivotal in shaping our curatorial vision, overseeing operations, managing staff, fostering partnerships, and enhancing community engagement. Specific Responsibilities Include:

* Supervise staff, including Preparator/Exhibition Coordinator, seasonal staff, guest curators, and interns.
* Collaborate with museum leadership to develop the curatorial vision aligned with Craft Contemporary’s mission.
* Conceptualize, plan, and execute exhibitions, maintaining a balanced schedule of different types.
* Collaborate on multi-year projects with partner organizations and guest curators.
* Conduct research, produce texts, and create exhibition content for various purposes.
* Engage diverse audiences through exhibitions and associated programming.
* Cultivate partnerships and support for exhibitions at regional, national, and international levels.
* Contribute to the care and management of artists, donors, members, and the community.
* Manage departmental budgets and support fundraising efforts.
* Attend Board of Trustees meetings to present upcoming projects.
* Undertake special projects and tasks assigned by the Executive Director.

Compensation
The budgeted salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000. A benefits package will also be provided. Craft Contemporary is an equal opportunity employer.
