Divadlo X10 in Prague is calling for proposals for their Y Events series, starting with Y: Roaaarrrrr, to take place in Prague, the Czech Republic, on 21 February 2025.
Y Events is a series of events which operates on the edges of theatre and looks for the places where theatre merges with visual arts, performance art, music, sound and theory.
For Y: Roaaarrrrr, Divadlo X10 seeks art relieving all that is usually suppressed, underheard and not investigated. They are looking for art which is not afraid to embrace darkness as an emancipatory strength, the art that screams: by colour, movement, sound, montage and size. They are looking for art that is angry, that spells dark magic and asks what is under the surface of lethargic, polished, happy, rich and fed bodies, images and social promises.
It is possible to apply with already existing works, long-term research or with newly developed concepts. Y Events endeavours to establish such environment that allows artists to develop their own processes; therefore they are looking mainly for proposals that are not conceived only for the purpose of this call, but play a significant role in building up artistic practices or experimenting with new layers (thematic, formal, presenting).
The call is open to both individuals and collectives working in any (non)artistic fields. Out of the call 5 to 10 proposals will be selected for each of the events.
