The European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute, in collaboration with Cité internationale des arts (Paris) and Neimënster (Luxembourg), invites applications for the 2025 Artists Development Programme (ADP). This program seeks two visual artists (born after January 1, 1990) from EU Member States to explore the theme “Disruption: The Imprint of Man.”
European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute: Established to promote the social, artistic, cultural, and academic initiatives of the EIB Group, the Institute supports emerging artists through its flagship ADP. The program offers residencies, mentorship by renowned artists, and opportunities for participants to contribute to the EIB’s contemporary art collection.
Cité internationale des arts (Paris): Founded in 1965, this prestigious residency center in Paris supports artists in all disciplines, fostering creativity, collaboration, and exchange. Located in the vibrant Marais and Montmartre neighborhoods, it accommodates over 300 artists annually from around the globe. Residents gain access to personalized support and opportunities to engage with cultural professionals.
Neimënster (Luxembourg): With a history spanning four centuries, Neumünster Abbey evolved from a Benedictine monastery to a military fortress, and later a Nazi prison. Today, it stands as a cultural hub dedicated to fostering creativity and humanist values. Hosting diverse events, including exhibitions, performances, and residencies, it offers spaces for artistic experimentation and public engagement.

Eligibility:
● Born after January 1, 1990
● EU nationality
● Proficiency in English
Theme:
“Disruption: The Imprint of Man” reflects on the Anthropocene era and expands its focus to include social issues within the European Union. Topics such as the erosion of values like solidarity, generational conflicts, and the significance of inter/intranational relations are central. Artists are encouraged to explore the consequences of human behavior, with disruption seen not just as a physical phenomenon but also a cultural and societal one.
Submission Requirements:
Submit via the online form by March 31, 2025 (GMT+2):
● CV (up to 4 pages) detailing education, exhibitions, and media coverage.
● Cover Letter (max. 700 words) outlining project ideas related to the theme.
● Portfolio (max. 8 pages in A4 PDF format) with a selection of works.
● Proof of nationality and age (if shortlisted).
Selection Process:
A jury comprising the mentor, EIB Arts Committee members, and representatives from Cité internationale des arts, neimënster, and external art advisors will evaluate candidates based on:
● Artistic quality
● Motivation and capacity to benefit from the residency
● Relevance to the program’s theme
Selected artists will be notified by email by May 2025.
Program Benefits:
● Travel costs covered (to/from Paris, Luxembourg)
● €80 daily allowance for living and production expenses
● Live-in studio accommodation
● Additional production grant of €500 at the start and a €1,000 success fee upon completion of the residency and creation of a work(s).
