FABRIC TEXTURE CONTEST 2023

The Fabric Texture Contest is a CG contest celebrating the launch of the KIZI fabric texture library, inviting 2D and 3D creators to use high-quality Japanese fabrics to showcase their vision of Japan in the “Fashion” or “Freestyle” categories.

The theme of the contest is “Japan”. Please express your own perception of Japan in your work.

The judging criteria focus on how well the design meets the contest theme, conveys a unique message, and portrays the textile materials.

You can submit only original CG works using fabric textures distributed by KIZI. Both 2D and 3D CG works are accepted for submission.

The theme for the contest

“Japan”

Please express your own perception of Japan in your work.

The sections for application

“Fashion” and “Freestyle” are the two sections.

A. Fashion Section

Please submit original costumes
You can use avatars and poses with CLO or Marvelous Designer. Original avatars are also accepted.
There is no requirement for the costumes to be traditional.

B. Freestyle Section

This section is open to all works that use fabric textures distributed by KIZI

The judging criteria

1.　how successfully the design meets the contest theme

2.　Whether the message is strongly conveyed or unique ideas and innovations have been incorporated

3.　Whether the textile materials are attractively portrayed

*If the prize winner resides outside of Japan, the prize money will be remitted in US dollars, and a remittance fee of approximately USD70 (at an exchange rate of 140 yen / USD) will be deducted
*Fees may vary depending on exchange rate fluctuations

Entry qualifications

Anyone can apply regardless of profession, age, gender, or nationality.

*Please apply with the consent of your guardian if you are under 18 years old. If someone under 18 years old applies, it will be considered as applied with the consent of the guardian.

Application Method

Please apply through the dedicated application form after confirming the “Submission Regulations” on this page and “Contest Application Conditions“.
Please note that the contents may be subject to change without notice.

Submission Regulations

The condition of the contest is that you must use fabric textures distributed by KIZI. You can use as many types as you like.
It is also OK to use KIZI‘s paid products. https://www.kizi.digital/
You can combine them with other fabric textures that are not distributed by KIZI.
The submission can be in 2D or 3D, but in the case of 3D, please submit rendered images (jpeg or png)
The submission must be less than 20MB.
The software or renderer used does not matter.
If you use CLO, Marvelous Designer avatar, please indicate this on the application form.
Only original works are accepted, secondary creations and copies are not allowed.
The submission must be the original work of the applicant, and it should not have been commercialized.
