Florence Biennale, Art Market Magazine, and Lens Magazine invite you to apply for the International Open Call Competition, which is aimed at identifying images that will be used for the integrated communication of the XIV Florence Biennale (14 – 22 October 2023, Fortezza da Basso, Florence).
The Florence Biennale is one of the few international art events structured as a self-financed independent platform for contemporary art, where Artists from all over the world come to Florence to exhibit their work at the Fortezza da Basso, and share an inspiring, live, and unique experience. The event is patronised by the President of the Republic and Ministry of Cultural Heritage of Italy as well as the Regional, Provincial and Municipal authorities of the City of Florence.
The artists and photographers participating in the contest are invited to interpret the theme of the XIV Florence Biennale:
“I AM YOU. Individual and Collective Identities in Contemporary Art and Design”
The works of the contest winners (1 artist and 1 photographer) will be used for the integrated communication of the event (mass media, internet, outdoor advertising, etc.) and exhibited in a dedicated space within the XIV Florence Biennale, while the works of the finalists (10 artists and 10 photographers) will be projected in rotation within the same space. The winners will also receive the Guests of Honour recognition during the event.
N.B: Please make sure that the size of the images (to be sent in jpg or png format)
does not exceed the maximum limit indicated (3 MB per image).
To artists who apply for the Video Art category: we ask you to enter the link of the video in the “Biography” field and to attach the frames of the video (at least 3) in the “Photo work” fields.
