FOUNTAIN STREET’S ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR ART

Take action and let your voice be heard.

‘About Face‘ invites commentary on artistic, personal, and cultural identity, as much as it is about the politics of authority, representation, inclusion, and exclusion. For this call, we would like to see work that ranges from bold and socio-political to subtle and poetic. We’d like the world to see through your unique lens.

There is an opportunity for the artist to take the concept in any number of directions, considering the expression’s double meaning, focusing on the fluidity of self/identity or centering the underrepresented, for example.

This call is an open question that asks artists to interpret the concept widely when selecting works to submit. Let your imagination flow as you think about the theme and how you feel about its meaning. True and clear interpretations will catch our attention. The work should speak to your message and your statement should explain intention, unique materials, processes or any risks taken.

ELIGIBILITY
The exhibition is open to everyone. The only limitation is that entries must represent original works created in the past three years, which address the theme in some considerable way.

MEDIA
This call is open to any and all media, traditional and nontraditional; two-dimensional, three-dimensional, installation and time-based artwork submissions are welcome.

ENTRY FEE
The submission fee is $36 for three entries; must pay for a minimum of three entries. Two additional entries can be submitted for $10 each. Total max number of entries is five. Fees are non-refundable. Payment is online only via submission application. The application is not complete and will not be considered until payment is received. Submission does not guarantee acceptance.

AWARDS
Three Juror’s Choice awards will be distributed. Award winners will be included in a three-person award show in the Annex space of the gallery, a $500 value. The show will be curated by a Fountain Street Core Artist.
