HOAX offers artists and writers a unique framework within which to show creative work that incorporates text. We present work online, in print, and through events and exhibitions. This also forms a wider, ongoing collection or survey of work existing at the intersection of art and creative writing.
New work is presented online once a week, hosted on our front page and added to our digital archive, and submissions for our online platform are permanently open. Submissions for our annual print issues open once a year, and are currently open for issue 7. We also hold sporadic call-outs for exhibitions and events.
The three key requirements are:
- Works must incorporate text in some way in their final form.
- Online submissions must be intended to be shown primarily online; print submissions have to be printed in black ink and on paper.
- Works must be creative. We don’t currently accept reviews or articles.
HOAX is run on a shoestring, by volunteers. We pay contributors £50 per piece and these fees are paid directly from donations.
If you’re interested in submitting work to HOAX, please download and read our submissions guidelines thoroughly before applying.
We look forward to receiving your submission!
