Motion Commotion is a curated screening of animation and motion shorts. Jury to be announced. ICON12 attendees and non-attendees are welcome to submit motion/animation projects for consideration. Artists who create experimental animation, narratives, motion graphics and looped animation shorts are encouraged to apply.
This high energy event will be free and open to all ICON12 conference attendees as well as the public—guests will include art directors, designers, esteemed ICON speakers, sponsors, local AIGA members and many more illustration and art world professionals.
Motion Commotion takes place at the Lumber Exchange in downtown Minneapolis, Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, following the ICON12 conference’s Prisms: The Illustration Education Symposium and à la carte events.
The application is free! Projects must be 5 minutes or under to be considered. Excerpt of five minutes or under from longer films are acceptable. The final motion reel will be projected at HD resolution: 1920 x 1080. Projects that screen at a different aspect ratio or standard definition will be letterboxed—black bars will be placed on either side or top/bottom to accommodate the HD format.
