Each year, a theme related to a current social issue is proposed in the form of an international call for projects to artists from all disciplines and backgrounds. A committee of artists and specialists meets to select artistic proposals that cover different axes crossing this theme. INACT Festival des arts mutants takes place in the spring, over several days showing various forms of performances, conferences or artistic practice workshops for the public.
Theme 2025: AMALGAM
The 2025 theme of the festival alludes to this object, made of sometimes contradictory material that seals dental cavities created by cavities. An alloy of metals, various compounds of the same event, a heterogeneous but compact object, this word has multiple definitions, it is an artifice, an artifact, which gives visual continuity to a discontinuous reality.
In the image of this principle, the INACT association invites artists, performers from all horizons to experience this notion of Amalgam. Alliance of heterogeneous elements, sometimes contrary, miraculously linked, and quite useful to the continuity of the world, it is as much this miraculous magnetism as this form which comes to adapt to the lacks of continuity which will constitute as many questions conducive to performative artistic proposals.

The programming
The INACT festival team considers its work as global . It builds a program in which each evening has a particular tone and sequence consistent with the locations and the chosen theme.
The call for projects
The annual call for projects of the INACT festival aims to give spectators a window of thematic exploration on a particular horizon. It is both about giving artists something to think about and about creating links between artistic productions that would not have any a priori.
Determined by the INACT festival team, the problem is launched in the fall of the year preceding the festival. A committee of specialist members of the association and guest performance experts is brought together to select the projects. The committee gives itself four criteria to determine the festival’s programming:
- Suitability of the project with the theme of the year
- Experimental , multidisciplinary or performative nature of the project
- Opportunity to give meaning or relevance to the programming of an evening (resonance with other proposals)
- Technical feasibility of the project, Desired aesthetics
The INACT association also invites artists to propose interventions and workshops suitable for any kind of audience who would like to practice performance art for the first time. This activity could lead to a performance or an exhibition during the festival. Workshops are paid 60 EUR per hour for a maximum of 6h, with 70 EUR budget for materials.
The festival provides a 300 EUR artist fee, travel expenses, accommodation, catering on the performance day and video or photo recording of the artwork.
Deadline: 30 November 2024
