Kinosaki International Arts Center Residency

OPEN CALL for the Artist-In-Residence Program 2025/2026
Kinosaki International Arts Center

Kinosaki International Art Center (KIAC), an artist-in-residence facility specialized in performing arts, invites interested artists to present their projects for the residency in the fiscal year 2025/26. In the past ten years since the inauguration in April 2014, we have been exposed to constant changes in society and in the conditions surrounding the arts.
In response to this situation, the application guideline is revised notably in two points: First, we added the criterion of “creation of exchange” to the existing selection criteria “response to society” and “critical creativity,” previously set for the open call 2022/23. Secondly, in consideration of the recent rise in prices for living, the resident artists will be asked to pay for the utility charges. We ask the kind comprehension of the participants for maintaining the facility as well as the residency program itself.
Unlike a theater where completed works are programmed, KIAC is an art center for the creation and community exchange. It is a place for experimentation where resident artists and local residents may be able to interact with each other to create values or works that no one has yet seen. We look forward to receiving applications from artists and projects that will make a great journey to discover new possibilities of KIAC and artistic expression together in the next future.
