Kiosko Galería Rsidency

Our international art residency program began in May 2007 with the purpose of creating a meeting and collaboration space for artists, curators and researchers focused on addressing relevant and urgent issues around contemporary art. We are interested in co-cultivating social transformation through artistic practices and the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

CALL
Kiosko Galería is pleased to invite artists, curators and researchers to apply for a residency starting in the second half of 2024 and 2025.

The residency will offer participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in a creative and collaborative environment, exploring topics such as sustainability, the relationship between humans and nature, encouraging reflection, awareness and dialogue.

This call is driven by the search for various collaborative artistic practices that address broad and current themes related to ecology, the environment and the city.

OUR SPACE AND PROGRAM

• Shared study space to work.
• Accommodation in a single room with private bathroom and air conditioning.
• Access to common spaces (kitchen, patio, library, laundry).
• Dissemination of the artist’s work on social networks and other platforms.
• Talk open to the artistic community and the general public.
• Open day/shared study event (in available spaces).
• Guidance on local resources and information relevant to the artist’s research or work.
• Connection with specific local creators and/or institutions related to the artist’s project (requested in advance by the artist).
• Support in assembly and production (equipment and materials available for use in the workspace).
• Curatorial support of the creative process.

DURATION TIME
The residencies will have a duration of 8 weeks, starting in June 2024.

COSTS
The total cost of the residency is 1500 USD. This fee covers accommodation in a single room, all basic services, use of the space and participation in the residency program for 8 weeks. For groups of no more than 2 people, additional costs apply (request the conditions by email).

RESPONSIBILITIES OF ARTISTS

• Comply with the deadlines established by the residence.
• Costs of air tickets, travel insurance, accommodation, food and production.
• Dismantling of works at the end of the Open day/study event.
• *KIOSKO will support by providing an invitation letter for the search for financing.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO APPLY:

1. Download the registration form in PDF format HERE and complete it with your information and sign.
2. Prepare a PDF document with your updated CV, two letters of recommendation and a Portfolio/Dossier with a maximum of 10 works, each with a technical sheet and explanation. Include direct links to videos, performances or any relevant information.
3. Submit a project proposal in a maximum of 3 pages.

Stage 1: Review of the jury made up of art agents from the KIOSKO ecosystem
Stage 2: Online interviews with pre-selected artists
