Since 1991, scholarships, financed by the state of Saxony-Anhalt, have been awarded for stays in Röderhof. The art association enables two artists per three-month scholarship period to work and live in the artists’ house. There are two living studios and a shared bathroom available.
The selection is generally made by curators. Two of the total of six scholarships per year are awarded by the art association itself. Free applications with the following information/materials can be sent to us by post at any time:
- Short CV (max. 1 sheet of A4)
- Sketch/project idea for the project during the funding period (max. 1 sheet of A4)
- Documentation of previous work (selection of illustrations or texts, max. 4 sheets of A4)
We expressly ask that you do not send catalogs or originals and would like to point out that we do not return any materials. We also ask for your understanding that we cannot send confirmations of receipt. We ask applicants to read the scholarship holder and house rules in advance. No scholarships are awarded between December and March.
Scholarship regulations
The Röderhof Art Association pursues the goal of making contemporary fine art and literature known and promoting the public’s understanding of art. For this purpose, artists should be given the opportunity to work in the Künstlerhaus for a limited time and to present their work to the public.
In the art association’s artist house, two studios are available all year round. The studio, printing workshop and exhibition room can only be used by scholarship holders in consultation with the art association.
The state of Saxony-Anhalt will grant the scholarship holders a scholarship of 1,500 euros per month (from 2023), depending on the budget situation. The first payment will be made upon receipt of the money, but no later than the end of the first month of the scholarship. Of this, the association manages a deposit of 100 euros, which will be offset against the telephone charges incurred and any damages incurred after the scholarship period has ended.
