Lmcc Artist Residency

LMCC’s longest-running residency program, Workspace, is a nine-month studio based residency that fosters the creative process and professional development of artists. It promotes experimentation, creative exploration, collaboration, and skill-sharing by facilitating regular interactions among peers and professionals in the arts as well as open studios with the public. Set within donated office space, this residency program presents a distinctive opportunity to reimagine what it means to work in Lower Manhattan, and residents enjoy round the clock access to semi-private individual studio spaces for the duration of the program.

Workspace nurtures experimentation, creative risk taking, collaboration, learning and skill sharing through regular opportunities for dialogue with peers and arts professionals. Situated within donated office space each year, Workspace offers a unique opportunity to reimagine what it means to work in Lower Manhattan. Participating artists are provided round-the-clock access to semi-private studio spaces and are expected to engage with the cohort for the full duration of the nine-month program.

LMCC seeks to create a welcoming, diverse, and dynamic cohort of individuals working across disciplines, including but not limited to visual arts, film, performance art, social practice, design, digital media, and the literary arts. Applicants should review program offerings to determine applicability to their practice.
