Since 1983, Mediamatic has been a space for innovation, fostering a community of artists, designers, and scientists. We invite you to transform one of our six waterfront greenhouses spaces into a unique artistic experience.
Are you an artist or designer ready to transform a unique space into an unforgettable artistic experience?
Why Apply?
– 6 Waterfront Greenhouses: Create and exhibit in one of Amsterdam’s most serene and innovative locations.
– 10-Month Exhibition: Showcase your work at one of the city’s most visited venues, Biotoop Dijkspark.
– International Network: Connect with makers, thinkers, and dreamers globally, with promotion and communication support for your project.
– Fixed Fee & Budget: Receive a fixed monthly fee for your exhibition, plus potential material/installation budget depending on your proposal.
Who Can Apply?
– Emerging visual artists and designers, from all countries and nationalities.
– No formal art education required – what matters is your vision!
– Existing works preferred, though adaptations are welcome if they fit perfectly.
– Collaborations and collectives are encouraged to submit their projects.
– Artists based in the Netherlands with KVK registration are eligible.
Themed Context: Your work will be part of Mediamatic’s “Open City Monastery” program, which focuses on responding to pressing social and ecological issues in a unique refuge-meets-hub environment.
How to Apply:
– Provide your personal data, CV, and relevant education details (if applicable).
– Share your portfolio: include an artist statement, documentation of your work, and descriptions.
– Write a motivation letter (max. 250 words) explaining why you’re applying.
