Medium Gallery OPEN CALL

Medium Gallery was established January 8, 1991, as a part of Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. The exhibition activities focus on all forms of contemporary art, matching the wide spectrum of study programmes (applied arts, architecture,
design, painting, graphic design, restoration, photography, sculpture, intermedia, textiles, visual communication).
For 2025, we have decided to continue with the possibility of partitioning the gallery space, as it had been started by the former head of the gallery Jana Kapelová in 2018, in order to accommodate parallel exhibitions.

Medium Gallery announces Open Call for exhibition projects for 2025

In order to be considered, the exhibition project application has toinclude:
– a short and detailed description of the project,
– a choice of space for the exhibition,
– CV of the artists and the curator,
– a portfolio of the artists with a selection of works related to the project (we prefer having a portfolio in a single PDF file),
– estimated preferred date of the exhibition,
– a plan of architecture/ installation of the exhibition,
– a description of an optional accompanying programme, eg. guided tour, performance, workshop, debate etc.

Medium Gallery provides and covers:
– exhibition space and energy costs,
– gallery guards,
– transport of the artworks (after mutual agreement),
– technical equipment, plinths, basic installation supplies etc.,
– graphic design of printed and online PR materials, according to the existing visual identity of the gallery,
– limited print run of promotional materials for the exhibition (poster),
– PR of the exhibition (distribution of press release in media, annotation on the web and social networks of the gallery, via newsletter),
– photo documentation of the exhibition (opening and exhibition views),
– an opening (staff, sounding),
– partial assistance in installing and uninstalling the exhibition.
