MOOT – The Movement Lab, an online dance and movement training platform, invites experienced dancers to apply for an artist residency in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal. This residency will focus on creating and sharing movement techniques specifically tailored to work with a designated local group (e.g., elderly, individuals with special needs, visually impaired). MOOT’s goal is to enhance wellbeing, support creative practice, and unify the dance and movement community.
Location: DERIVA space, São Miguel, Azores, Portugal
Residency Details:
- Duration: 20 days
- Residency Dates: April 14 – May 5, 2025 (dates flexible within April-May)
- Compensation: €1200 stipend, plus full accommodation and travel support (up to €400)
- Outcome: Work with the local audience and production of a video training plan based on the dancer`s movement approach, recorded and managed by MOOT for sharing on their online platform.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Experience in creating and teaching movement practices, adaptable for a specific audience.
- A unique, impactful approach to movement that transcends traditional dance styles.
- Open to sharing knowledge with a specified local group in São Miguel.
