Open Call for participation GROUP SHOW #4

Win one of 13 spots in our next GROUP SHOW #4 from 31 October to 28 November 2024 in the New & Abstract Pop-up Showroom (Mollstr. 1, 10178 Berlin) and exhibit your work live in Berlin! We are looking for abstract works on canvas, paper and as wall objects. Deadline for applications is 13.10.2024. Founded in 2019 as an art platform on Instagram, New & Abstract supports new and fresh art by emerging and established artists worldwide. Since July 2024, New & Abstract has been showing national and international artists in changing group exhibitions every 5 weeks on 100 square meters in the center of Berlin.

For GROUP SHOW #4 from 31.10. – 28.11.24 we will curate 13 international artists from all applications who will be physically on view with their work. We will select a winner from the 13 works.

1st prize: 

The first prize winner will receive a solo wall (2.5 x 2.5 meters) for their work and will also have the opportunity to show other works. 

2nd – 13th prize:

The 2nd – 13th prize winners will be curated and presented on a mixed wall. 

The first 13 winners will be featured in the New & Abstract online gallery for the 4 week duration of the exhibition. Additionally, they will be announced with a feed post on the New & Abstract Instagram account. Participating artists will receive professional photographs of the exhibition. 

Honorable Mentions:

In addition, there will be 17 honorable mentions that will be announced in our New & Abstract Instagram Story prior to the exhibition. So in total we will honor and introduce 30 artists.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

To participate, please fill out the form below. By registering for GROUP SHOW #4, you agree to the conditions of participation. Artists aged 18 and over are invited to participate, worldwide. Please note that a submitted application does not automatically mean participation in an exhibition.

What can you apply with?

You submit a photo of your artwork. The artwork must be available for the exhibition in Berlin and will be offered for sale in our online gallery as well as during the exhibition. As the submitter, you must be the creator of the artwork. An artist’s statement and, if possible, a brief description of the artwork are also required. The artwork must not contain discriminatory, offensive or violent material in either image or text form.

How large can the artwork be?

The artwork may not be larger than 50 x 60 cm. The size of the artwork is up to you. It must not be larger than 50 x 60 cm. The first prize winner can also display a work that is up to 200 x 200 cm in size. First prize winner receives a solo wall space of 2.5 x 2.5 metres. Further works can be shown here. Prize winners 2 – 13 will be presented with the submitted work on a mixed wall. Prize winners 14 – 30 will receive a Story Mention from 16.10. to 30.10.2024

Sale and dispatch

You will receive 70% of the sales price. If the work is sold in the online gallery, the buyer bears the shipping costs. If the work is returned to you after the exhibition, you bear the costs for the return shipment.

Is there a participation fee?

We charge a processing fee of €20 for each artwork submitted. This fee only partially covers the administrative costs such as communication, curation and hanging and is non-refundable. You can also apply with several works. The processing fee will be charged for each submission. There are no further fees, not even for participation in the exhibition.

Dates

The Open Call starts on 01.10. runs until 13.10.2024. The winners will be informed on 15.10. and announced via our Instagram account. We need your work in Berlin by 25.10. The exhibition runs from 31.10 to 28.11.2024. The opening will take place on 31.10. You are cordially invited.

Submission of the application

Only the application form below can be used for registration. Please fill in all mandatory fields (asterisks). After uploading your submission you will receive a confirmation and an invoice via Paypal. After you have paid the invoice, your submission is complete. You will receive a confirmation.

If you do not use Paypal, please contact us in time by e-mail at contact@newandabstract.com and we will find another solution.

Payment process / registration confirmation / invoice

Please note that your submission is only complete once you have transferred the processing fee of €20. Your application is valid and received by us once the payment has been completed. As soon as the money has been received, you will receive an e-mail with confirmation of registration and invoice within 24 hours. If anything is missing, we will contact you.
