We are excited to announce an Open Call for an upcoming group exhibition, “Reclamation,” which seeks to spotlight the powerful and diverse artistic voices of female and non-binary artists exploring the concept of the female form in contemporary art. “Reclamation” aims to challenge and redefine traditional notions of the female body through a range of mediums, including but not limited to painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital and mixed media.
In the landscape of contemporary art, the female body has long been a subject of exploration, interpretation, and, at times, objectification. However, this exhibition goes beyond mere representation to amplify the voices of artists who navigate the complexities of gender identity, empowerment, and societal constructs surrounding the female form. We aim to showcase works that challenge stereotypical depictions, foster inclusivity, and celebrate the diversity of experiences and perspectives within this realm.
Open Call Applicants:
We invite artists of all backgrounds to submit their work for consideration. Through this Open Call, we hope to bring together a diverse selection of artists who will contribute to a dynamic and engaging exhibition that honors the power, complexity, and resilience of the female and non-binary experience.
The selected artists will provide fresh and thought-provoking insights into the multifaceted nature of femininity, and the evolving ways in which it is portrayed and understood in our modern world. Their works will engage with themes such as body positivity, agency, intersectionality, gender fluidity, cultural identity, and the female body as a site of resistance and resilience.
