The Queer Art prize consists of two categories: the Community Prize is directed at queer artists / queer art, and the three winners will receive a cash prize and have their artworks showcased at this year’s viennacontemporary. The Gallery Prize is directed at participating galleries to promote more queer art at the fair.
Submissions are open until 15 August 2024.

Community Prize

Prize Money: 1x 1,000€ (1st), 2x 500€ (2nd & 3rd)
The top 3 artworks will be presented at viennacontemporary.
How to Apply:
- 1 artwork per artist/collective 2 pages PDF (1 page image + 1 page including bio & artist statement) to queerartspacesvienna@gmail.com (Subject: community/artist’s name)
- Deadline: 15 August 2024, 11:59 pm
Gallery Prize
presented by GayParship Austria
Prize Money: 1x 1,000€
How to Apply:
- 1 artwork per gallery 2 pages PDF (1 page image + 1 page including bio & artist statement) to queerartspacesvienna@gmail.com (Subject: gallery / gallery’s name)
- Deadline: 15 August 2024, 11:59 pm The artwork must be presented at the gallery booth during the fair.
The jury will have the selection meeting in the evening/morning before the preview (TBA).
The Jury consists of: Anne Faucheret (die Angewandte), Francesca Gavin (viennacontemporary), and Michael Kaufmann (Queer Art Spaces Vienna)
Any legal recourse is excluded.
