Who should apply:

SNAP is seeking proposals from Artists, Curators, and Collectives for gallery exhibitions during the 2026/27 exhibition seasons. Local, national, and international Artists at all stages of their career are encouraged to apply.

SNAP’s mandate is to support artistic practice in printmaking specifically, encouraging all contemporary and traditional approaches to the medium. Experimental approaches and those that challenge our expectations of the medium are welcomed and can include video, performance, animation, installation, sound, multiples for distribution, etc.

SNAP is dedicated to supporting Indigenous and Black Artists, Artists of Colour, as well as Disabled and 2SLGBTQIA+ Artists. Discussion, resource sharing, and a shared awareness regarding systemic and organizational barriers to full and equal participation in arts and culture is an active and ongoing part of the review and selection process.

What we provide:

SNAP is in compliance with CARFAC Artists fees as they pertain to Exhibitions, Installations, and Presentation under Section 1.

We offer a modest travel/accommodation budget of up to $800, and a return shipping budget of up to $250.

SNAP provides assistance with exhibition production including in-house equipment, and installation assistance. A basic list of available equipment can be requested by contacting snap@snapartists.com. Items or elements that are crucial for an exhibition beyond this must be supplied by the artist.

Installing artists can anticipate a white walled gallery space that is ready for installation. If an installing artist wishes to alter the wall colour, they are expected to cover the cost of paint, paint the space, and pay a resurfacing fee of $100 to cover reclamation.

We encourage selected artists and curators to apply for additional travel and project funding if necessary. If required, SNAP will be pleased to assist with letters of support.
