Studio17 is an independent venue for contemporary art in Stavanger, run by visual artists on a voluntary basis. Since its inception in 2013 Studio17 have hosted over 200 art and cultural events. In January 2024 we moved into exciting new premises at Øvre Strandgate 66 in Old Stavanger, complete with an Artist apartment* provided by the Stavanger Municipality.
In connection with this, Studio17 invites all interested individuals to apply for Studio17 Residency. We wish to emphasize collaboration in our residency program by inviting 2 artists to share a 4-week stay in the artist apartment and our new venue in the spring of 2025. Applicants can either submit an individual application or apply as a duo.
During the residency, we encourage artists to organize an exhibition, showcase work-in-progress, conduct a workshop, or similar activities. An artist presentation is also an integral part of the stay in Stavanger.
