The Artist and Leisure Painter Open Art Competition in association with Patchings Art Centre has been a regular opportunity for artists of all abilities for more than 25 years.
Each year we invite submissions of two-dimensional works in any media including drawings, paintings, printmaking and digital artwork from amateur painters in the Leisure Painter category, and from more experienced and professional artists in The Artist category.
70 works in each category are selected by esteemed artist judges, David Curtis, Haidee-Jo Summers and Liz Wood and editors of The Artist and Leisure Painter, Sally Bulgin and Ingrid Lyon, for exhibition at Patchings Art Centre, opening on the first day of the Patchings Festival in Nottinghamshire, as well as online.
Art prizes are also awarded in both categories and a selection of exhibited works are featured in the magazines, promoting artists to a worldwide audience.
