trabajo práctico is a learning community that stimulates artistic, collaborative and conceptual creation from a shared intimacy. Through workshops, study groups and project support, we focus on creative processes, archiving and writing practices.
We love archives in all their forms. Photos, found footage, letters, fragments of the past. We are related to archives, whether by working in one, by compulsively collecting photos or by inheriting a family box full of memories. Between historical revisionism and the desire for sensitive narratives, the last three decades mark an archival turn in both the humanities and the arts. It shifts the idea of the archive as a mere repository towards how it was built, what implications it has for the bodies and affects we build every day, and above all, how we can appropriate it, proposing other sensitive and habitable narratives.
We know that every day it becomes harder to provide the creative and shared leisure spaces that every project needs to grow and expand. Therefore, after four years of facilitating workshops and supporting projects online, trabajo práctico lunches this open call to create a temporary community interested in archives, artistic practices, creative writing, nature, rivers and good food. ARCHIVAL BOOTCAMP will take place in a farmhouse in the Valencian community, surrounded by river and nature. Interested in alternative memory practices, we propose artistic and affective methodologies to enhance the material that each person wants to work on, stressing the linearity of images, of text, towards other montage and writing practices. A learning community where you can read, enrich and experience other ways of doing things with others, from our own projects.
Eligibility criteria
The selection criteria will be based on the resonance between the projects, the applicant’s justification for wanting to participate in the residency, the relevance as an archival topic and the possibilities within the given work week.

There is no application fee, but in case of selection, the price per person is 650 euros, with the possibility of paying in installments.
