about Zuid. Boijmans Van Beuningen.
Zuid. is located in the former technical school at Hillevliet 90, in the middle of the Feijenoord district. Working with artists, social partners and key figures in the neighbourhood conversations are being had about what can be learned from Zuid. Together we are working on a new museum concept at the interface between culture, social practice and education. Zuid. presents methods for alternative cultural practice, applicable to an innovative museological context.
Together with the interactive program of the commissioned work, the artwork must be accessible during regular opening hours of Zuid. (Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11:00-18:00). If the artist/collective are not present at these times the space must be freely accessible.
Zuid. takes a learning by doing approach towards its projects. Artists are asked to align their projects with this approach by testing different methods towards engaging different groups and communities from Zuid.
