Now entering its 7th edition, Contextile has established itself as an international benchmark in the field of contemporary textile art. Hosted in Guimarães and the Vale do Ave region, the biennial transforms the city into a vibrant hub where artists, industry, and the local community intersect.

The biennial is organized into five main pillars, occupying various cultural and public spaces throughout the city:
- International Exhibition: The competitive heart of the biennial, featuring a curated selection of works from an international open call.
- Invited Country: A dedicated section highlighting the contemporary textile production and artistic heritage of a specific guest nation.
- Artistic Residencies: A collaborative program where artists work directly with the local textile industry and regional territory to create site-specific projects.
