TEFAF New York

TEFAF New York is one of the two international art fairs run by The European Fine Art Foundation (TEFAF), founded in 1988. Held every May at the Park Avenue Armory on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, it brings together around 90 leading international dealers presenting modern and contemporary art, design, jewelry and ancient art, with works vetted for quality and authenticity. Its sister fair, TEFAF Maastricht, takes place each March in the Netherlands.

The next edition takes place from 14 to 18 May 2027 at the Park Avenue Armory, during New York Art Week. The exhibitor list, tickets and opening hours will be published on the official TEFAF website ahead of the fair.

TEFAF New York 2026

The 2026 edition ran from 15 to 19 May and presented 88 exhibitors from 14 countries across four continents. Newcomers included Galerie Lelong, Piano Nobile, Annely Juda Fine Art and Larkin Erdmann, while Hauser & Wirth, Pace and Lévy Gorvy Dayan returned after a break. The fair took place alongside Frieze New York, Independent and Future Fair during New York Art Week. It is directed by Leanne Jagtiani, with Bank of America as New York Lead Partner and AXA as Global Lead Partner.

Venue: Park Avenue Armory

TEFAF New York takes place at the Park Avenue Armory, 643 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10065. It is the only fair at the Armory that uses all 16 historic period rooms — the Reception Rooms on the first floor and the Company Rooms on the second — designed by leading 19th-century figures including Louis Comfort Tiffany, Stanford White, Herter Brothers and Pottier & Stymus. Its Creative Spaces initiative also places large-scale works around the fair, outside the dealers’ stands.

What You Can See

The fair covers modern and contemporary painting and sculpture, 20th-century and contemporary design, fine jewelry and ancient art. Alongside the stands, TEFAF New York runs an in-person talks programme with experts from across the TEFAF community, aimed at both experienced collectors and new visitors.

HTEFAF New York vs TEFAF Maastricht

TEFAF Maastricht, the flagship fair, takes place each March in the Netherlands — next from 13 to 18 March 2027 — with over 260 dealers covering around 7,000 years of art history, from antiquities and Old Masters to contemporary art. Every object there is examined by around 200 experts in 30 specialist vetting committees. TEFAF New York is smaller, with around 90 dealers, and leans more towards modern and contemporary art and design while still including antiquities and jewelry. It began in 2016 as two separate fairs and is now a single annual fair in May.
