Organizer Information

The Anderson Center Residency Program, hosted at the Anderson Center at Tower View, is a nonprofit artist community established in 1995 on the historic Tower View estate in Red Wing, Minnesota. It restores and maintains historic buildings to provide studios, galleries, performance spaces, and natural surroundings that inspire creativity. The Center supports artists of exceptional promise through residencies, fellowships, and community engagement, having hosted over 900 residents from dozens of countries. It emphasizes interdisciplinary arts exchange, minimizing distractions for focused work, and connecting artists with the local community.

Title & Description

2026 Artist Residency Program
This flagship program offers 2- or 4-week (preference for 4-week) cohort-based residencies in June, July, August, and October 2026. It provides artists with a dedicated live/work space in a supportive, inspiring environment on the historic Tower View estate to create, advance, or complete new work. Residents live in community with a cohort of up to 5 artists from diverse disciplines, enjoy chef-prepared meals, and engage in interdisciplinary exchange. The program serves as a catalyst for innovation, drawing on the estate's natural beauty and resources (e.g., sculpture garden, trails, studios). Residents are expected to contribute to the community through at least one engagement activity (e.g., talk, workshop, or performance). It is ideal for artists seeking focused creative time away from daily obligations in a welcoming, rural setting that fosters new inspiration and connections.
