The Wassaic Project. A non-profit organization that uses art and arts education to foster positive social change. The Wassaic Project exists to provide a genuine and intimate context for art making and strengthening the local community in the hamlet of Wassaic.
Title & Description:
Applications are open for the 2027 Summer Exhibition.
The Wassaic Project accepts four types of proposals for their summer programming: ready-to-hang work, site-specific installations, temporary installations/performances, and printed works. Your application can include multiple proposals. Artists are selected based on the quality of the work and how well a given piece fits alongside other pieces selected for the show inside the Maxon Mills exhibition space.

Eligibility:
- Who: Open to all contemporary visual and performing artists.
- Site-Specific Work: Artists proposing site-specific installations are also eligible for an optional "Exhibitions Residency" to help realize their work (no separate application needed).

- Exhibition Space: The opportunity to exhibit work within the unique architecture of Maxon Mills.

- Application Fee: $25 (If this presents a financial hardship, email danielle@wassaicproject.org to request a waiver).
Application Requirements:

- Contact info.
- CV or publication list (3 pages max).
- Project Proposal: A formal description of the work, a 3-sentence conceptual description of your practice/work, and a note about any special installation circumstances. (Site-specific proposals must include completed past works, drawings, and/or style references).
- Portfolio: 1 to 10 work samples (Images up to 5MB JPG; Video up to 250MB; Audio up to 30MB; PDFs up to 10MB). Submitted videos must be less than 1 minute, accompanied by a link to the full video.

- Notification: Within 90 days of the due date. (Accepted applicants have 7 days to commit).
