Bryn Du Art Show — The Bryn Du Commission is the governing body responsible for the management and preservation of the historic Bryn Du Mansion, a 52-acre estate located in Granville, Ohio. Established to foster cultural and community engagement, the Commission oversees a variety of programming including educational workshops, community events, and the arts. The estate’s centerpiece is a stunning Federal-style mansion dating back to 1905, which serves as a regional hub for the arts in Licking County. Supported by the Village of Granville, the Ohio Arts Council, and the Granville Arts Commission, the organization is dedicated to providing high-quality cultural experiences that are free and accessible to the general public, while supporting the professional growth of visual artists.

22nd Annual Bryn Du Art Show
The Bryn Du Art Show is a prestigious annual juried exhibition that celebrates contemporary visual arts in a unique historical setting. For 2026, the exhibition will be staged within the elegant rooms of the Bryn Du Mansion, transforming the estate into a multi-gallery experience. The show aims to highlight diverse voices in the national art scene, featuring original works that have been created within the last five years. The exhibition is designed to be a "show for all ages," providing a family-friendly environment where community members and collectors can engage directly with high-caliber artwork. Artists are invited to submit 2D and 3D works that challenge or complement the grand architecture of the mansion, with the opportunity to compete for significant cash prizes and reach a wide audience of art enthusiasts in the Columbus region.

Categories

The exhibition is open to original two-dimensional and three-dimensional Visual Arts, including:

  • Painting (Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, etc.)
  • Drawing and Mixed Media
  • Photography (Note: Metal photography must include hanging wire)
  • Sculpture (3D works)
  • Printmaking
  • Note: Installation pieces, video art requiring electricity, and perishable artworks are not accepted.

Eligibility

  • Residency: Open to all National applicants who are legal residents of the United States.
  • Age: Artists must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Work Recency: Only current work created within the last 5 years is eligible. Previously accepted artwork in this specific show will not be considered.
  • Suitability: As an all-ages event, only age-appropriate submissions will be accepted.

Program Benefits & Awards

  • Cash Prizes: A total prize pool is available, featuring:
    • Best in Show: $1,000
    • Excellence Awards: Two awards of $500 each.
  • Exhibition: Inclusion in a high-traffic, juried exhibition in a historic landmark.
  • Sales: Opportunity to sell work to the public. The show handles sales tax collection, and the commission taken by the mansion is a competitive 25%.
  • Exposure: Inclusion in the Art Show program and potential features in promotional materials by partners like Ohio Magazine.

Application Fee

$35.00 for up to three (3) works.

Application Requirements

  • Online Submission Form: Personal details and artwork information.
  • Digital Images: One image per 2D piece; up to three images for 3D pieces.
  • Dimensions: Precise measurements including matting and framing.
  • Weight/Size Info: 2D works must not exceed 70” in any direction or 40 lbs. 3D works must not exceed 96” x 35” or 100 lbs.
  • Pricing: Clearly stated sale price or "Not for Sale" (NFS) status.

Additional Details

Accepted 2D work must be "gallery ready," meaning it is either professionally framed with a hanging wire or gallery-wrapped with painted sides. The Bryn Du Art Show does not provide insurance for the artwork; artists are solely responsible for insuring their pieces during transit and for the duration of the exhibition. The 25% commission on sales goes directly back into supporting the Bryn Du Commission's cultural programming.
