500 Capp Street, located in San Francisco, California, is dedicated to the legacy of artist David Ireland and to supporting experimental, conceptual, and boundary-pushing practices. Through residencies, exhibitions, and public programs, 500 Capp Street provides artists with space, resources, and archives that connect contemporary practice with Bay Area conceptual art history.

500 Capp Street International Artist Residency 2025–2026 (San Francisco, USA)
500 Capp Street invites applications for its 2025–2026 Artist Residency, supported by the Sanger Family Foundation. This two-month residency offers international and U.S.-based artists the opportunity to conduct research, create new work, and present it in a culminating exhibition. Artists are encouraged to engage with conceptual approaches, pushing the boundaries of material and medium. Sculpture and practices aligned with David Ireland’s philosophies are particularly welcome.
Residents will live or work in The House, access the Paule Anglim Archive Room and David Ireland Archive, and work closely with curator Lian Ladia. The program supports installations, interventions, and public programming, culminating in a final exhibition.

Conceptual art and practices that challenge material and medium, with a focus on sculpture and alignment with David Ireland’s artistic philosophies.
