ADAGP – Société des Auteurs dans les Arts Graphiques et Plastiques is a French collective rights management organization that protects and manages authors’ rights for visual arts creators (including artists, designers, photographers, etc.). It operates nationally and internationally to support artistic creation, ensure fair remuneration for reproduction and distribution of works, and provides direct aid and grants to artists.

Bétonsalon – Centre d’art et de recherche is a non‑profit contemporary art institution based in Paris. Founded in 2003 and located at the University Paris Cité (Campus des Grands Moulins), it focuses on artistic and academic exploration, collaboration, and the circulation of knowledge through exhibitions, research projects, residencies, workshops, and public programs.

This research grant is realized in partnership with the Bibliothèque Kandinsky (Centre Pompidou) and archives such as the Archives de la critique d’art in Rennes, which hold extensive photographic collections accessible for research.

Bourse de recherche et de production ADAGP x Bétonsalon 2026

This open call funds an artist to undertake in‑depth artistic research and production centered on the representation, production, and circulation of images using photographic archives conserved at the Bibliothèque Kandinsky. It emphasizes experimentation and the creation of new works within expanded archival and theoretical contexts and includes institutional mentorship through Bétonsalon.

Eligibility

Program Benefits & Awards

  • €15,000 research grant, allocated as follows:
    • Artist honorarium: €4,000
    • Production costs: €8,000 (including travel and accommodation)
    • Accompaniment & mentoring: €3,000 (support by Bétonsalon)
  • Shortlisted candidates (5 artists) receive €200 compensation for preparing additional material.
  • The grant supports new production and research and provides opportunities for multi‑institution engagement and visibility.
  • Final work will be presented in a public program/exhibition at Bétonsalon in the first semester of 2028.
