Advanced Master of Research in Art and Design 2026–27 – Sint Lucas Antwerpen
This Advanced
Master program is designed for artists and designers working within social-political contexts, including topics such as feminism, decolonization, migration, race, gender, disability politics, climate change, AI, digital culture, and critical design. The program supports practice-based research, providing intensive coaching in writing, critical theory, research methodology, and methods for sharing research outputs.
Participants work individually and collectively, engaging in critical discourse, workshops, and participatory coaching, with guidance from experienced tutors, researchers, and guest lecturers. The program encourages reflection on personal artistic practice, collaborative research, and prepares candidates for practice-based PhD programs or other advanced research trajectories.

Eligibility
- Artists or designers holding a Master’s degree (MA) in visual arts or related fields.
- Individuals with an active arts or design practice, either solo or collaborative.

- Candidates must commit to the full program and intensive participation.
- Recommended for those planning to relocate to Antwerp or Belgium for the program duration.

Application Fee
- Tuition fee: The tuition fee for a full-year programme (60 credits) in the 2026-2027 academic year for advanced master is 3096,10 euro:
- 1014,10 euro – fixed
- 34,70 euro – variable (per credit)

- Cost: 139,40 euros (excluding bank costs). This fee is deducted from your tuition fee if you are accepted onto the programme.
Application Requirements
