Short Description:
The Alkazi Foundation for the Arts (AFA), in partnership with the Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT) and the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), invites applications for a visiting Curatorial Research Fellowship. The Fellowship is based in the V&A’s Photography Section in South Kensington, London, for 3–6 months, allowing mid-career cultural producers to conduct research and assist with ongoing photography projects.
Eligibility
- Nationality: Indian citizens domiciled in India.
- Age: 25–45 years.
- Profession: Artists, scholars, writers/editors, curators (independent or affiliated with art institutions).
- Project: Research relating to the V&A’s photography collections; ongoing curatorial interests encouraged.
- Other: Applicants must demonstrate existing knowledge in photography history or contemporary lens-based practice.
- Not Eligible: Collectives, projects tied to another institution/commercial space, infrastructure/equipment-heavy projects.
Fellowship Details
- Duration: 3–6 months (April 2026 start).
- Location: V&A Photography Section, South Kensington, London.
- Funding: Covers travel (economy class), accommodation, meals, local travel (applicant responsibility).
- Publication Support: AFA/CWIT/V&A will promote the published work; connection to editors available.
